19 July 2008 - 09 September 2008
Graphic Studio Gallery's exhibition Summer Printfest is an integral part of our print initiative Imprint festival of print 2008/2009 incorporating 'Revelation' which is currently showing at National Gallery of Ireland, a number of solo exhibitions, and culminating in 'Artist's Proof' at Chester Beatty Library in January 2009.
Summer Printfest features fresh works from Gallery artists and Graphic Studio Members and showcases a diverse range of printmaking techniques; etching, linocut, drypoint, carborundum and mezzotint. There is an exciting new aquatint by Stephen Lawlor, based on his recent series of paintings inspired by water and dappled light. Carmel Benson has produced a series of small carborundums continuing her theme of rich painterly landscapes. 'Flights of Fancy' by Stephen Vaughan is a very bold striking piece, one of a number of his new works that we have here in the gallery. Other artists include renown printmakers Gay O'Neill, Liam O'Broin, Bob Lynn, Deirdre McCrory and graduate award winners Caroline Donohue and Maedhbh Arthurs.
It is a must see for both the ardent collector and print enthusiast.
