New works by Richard Gorman

Following Richard Gorman's successful solo shows at the Kerlin Gallery, Dublin in July 2006 and at Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris from May to July of this year, presents a unique collection of his woodblocks, lithographs and etchings.

This exhibition showcases two special collectors' box sets titled 'Sept' and 'Cinq' produced on Japanese takogami paper and made at the Atelier Michael Woolworth in Paris.

The suite of prints 'Sept' was commissioned by The Beckett Project, Paris, supported by Culture Ireland, in response to Beckett's writing and his influence on other artistic disciplines. Gorman continued with a second set of woodblocks 'Cinq' to emphasise the paper quality and it's relationship with the inked woodblocks.

Gorman's careful juxtaposition of curvilinear and square shapes on a flat ground interrogates the space between form and boundary. His colour palette ranges from muted blues and greys to bright greens and crisp lemons. Although individual in nature this collection of fine art prints form a continuum of analogous images.
