Graphic Studio Gallery exhibits over 40 works of Swedish art from Galleri Astley's stable of artists. Established in 1977, Galleri Astley is a unique Art Centre set in Uttersberg, Sweden and incorporates a sculpture park, museum, gallery acoustic reserve and a print workshop. In 1994 the centre opened its printmaking facilities and has since showcased and published screen prints from Swedish and International artists.

This group show includes well known Swedish painters and sculptors who collaborated with Galleri Astley's master printmaker Mitchell Ward to produce this diverse and interesting exhibition. Svante Rydeberg's meditative landscape prints mirror his paintings and reflect a Nordic melancholy. Also participating is Carle Pontus an International artist with collections in New York, Paris, The Hague and Stockholm. Eva Zettervall's bold portraiture explores the human condition, which is central to her work and believes that "Our personality is a conglomeration of all our earlier experiences and in the eyes and shadowy landscape of the skin all the movements of life are depicted, the invisible and the obvious." Eva, along with artists Ikka Parni, Pontus Carle and Sigvard Olsson will travel from Sweden to attend the opening and violinist Kjell Larsson will play Swedish folk music during the evening. Kindly sponsored by Kopparberg.

Mitchell Ward is conducting a screen print demonstration on Wednesday 3rd September between 2 - 4 pm at Black Church Print Studio in Temple Bar. Booking is essential | t: +353 1 6798021 | e: gallery@graphicstudiodublin.com
