Artist's Proof

Artist's Proof Exhibition: Graphic Studio Dublin & Chester Beatty Library
For centuries art historians have analysed and studied the fine art prints of Rembrandt, Durer and others to try to catch a glimpse of the secrets locked within printmaking techniques. Graphic Studio Dublin in association with Chester Beatty Library are delighted to present Artist's Proof, an exhibition celebrating the stages that lead up to a final fine art print.

The Artists
Artist's Proof sees twenty-four fine art printmaking artists showing their work, and two working proofs alongside it, so you can get a glimpse of how the fine art print was made. Nine international and invited artists will exhibit alongside fifteen Graphic Studio Dublin members. The invited artists are: Norman Ackroyd RA (UK), Mary Modeen (USA), Christopher le Brun (UK), Arno Kramer (Netherlands), David Lilburn (Ireland), Barbara Rae (UK), Takahiko Hayashi (Japan), Elaine Leader (Ireland), Lars Nyberg (Sweden), and Graphic Studio Dublin members included are: Gerard Cox, Gráinne Cuffe, Cliona Doyle, Niamh Flanagan, Desmond Kenny, Brian Lalor, Jennifer Lane, Stephen Lawlor, Sharon Lee, James McCreary, Niall Naessens, Ruth O'Donnell, Tom Phelan, Robert Russell, & Katherine Van Uytrecht.

Limited Edition Boxed Sets
Nineteen Boxed sets are available, each containing a complete series of twenty-four limited edition prints from the exhibition. Each solander box is manufactured to the highest conservation standard by G. Ryder & Co, (Box makers to The Queen of England since 1914).

Priced at €7,500 (inclusive of VAT at 13.5%) these superbly crafted boxes offer a substantial saving of almost 25% of the total exhibition price to both private and corporate buyers.

Solander Box Number One will enter the permanent collection of the Chester Beatty Library, the others are available to purchase for corporate collections, archives or private collectors. When you buy a Solander Box Set of Artist's Proof you are investing in the future of Graphic Studio Dublin. As a non-profit artists' organisation all commission on sales is invested in the development of studio and support facilities for artists. It makes sound financial sense too, since Irish Art has appreciated by over 800% since 1976 [A Buyers Guide to Irish Art, Ashville Media Group, 2003].
