Marta Wakula-Mac b. 1979
Marta Wakula-Mac was born in Nisko, Poland. She graduated from the Institute of Art, Pedagogical University in Krakow in 2003 with a Masters
Degree in the field of Fine Art Education. She also received
a diploma working in linocut technique with Prof. Jerzy
Jedrysiak. Since then she has been living and working in
Dublin. She joined Graphic Studio Dublin in 2004 where she
has been working and developing linocut and etching
techniques.
Wakula-Mac has had solo exhibitions in Ireland and
Poland and her work has been included in many group shows in
Ireland and internationally /9th International Biennial of
Illustration - The 44th Golden Pen of Belgrade, V
International Small Engraving Biennial L'Arte e Il
Torchio/ Art and the Printing Press, Civic Museum of
Cremona, Italy, Museum "Dwory Karwacjanow i Gladyszow",
Gorlice, Poland, National Gallery of Ireland.
Awards include Arts Council Travel and Training Award and a
grant from Culture Ireland.
She is an author of over 40 illustrations to a book by
Susan Knight "Gommorah" published in Dublin in 2007 and
her work is regularly published in The Stinging Fly
Magazine.
Work in collections: Muzeum Archidiecezjalne in Poznan,
Poland; Civic Museum of Cremona, Italy, The National Gallery of
Ireland, Dublin, TASCQ Dublin.
