Rossi has always drawn inspiration to heer work from architecture as is evident in the body of work 'History/Order/Space'. She is interested in the concept of how people construct buildings in an ordedrly manner seeking to have control over their surroundings. Piia Rossi's prints are monoprints and therefore can not be editioned and are unique. Rossi uses a technique of combining Chine Colle and monoprinting on hand-made paper, reinforcing the uniqueness of each piece. The nature of this method enables Rossi to produce highly individual pieces on request and has done so for many commissioned and project based work.
Rossi has had two solo exhibitions, 'Dream Travel' 1997 and 'History Order Space' 2002. Her work has been exhibited at numerous exhibitions such as the RHA Annual Exhibitions, Oireachtas, and the Tokyo International Mini-print Triennial, New York etching weeks. Her work was purchased for presentation by Blanchardstown Art Centre to President Mary McAleese at the opening of the centre.
