Artist Statement:
Since I was seventeen years old I have been working with the drypoint technique. Sometimes I teach in drypoint in Sweden or abroad but usually I work full time with my copperplates. To feel and hear the steel needle travelling in the copperplate is meditative music for me. The happy surprise of printmaking is, besides working with a unique media, that after a long period of thinking and scratching upon the copperplate, I can print extra copies from the plate, give away prints, or sell the prints not too expensively. There is something unpredictable working with drypoint, the inscribed lines live theirs own lives in the copper - I like that.
