Ulla Fries was born 1946 in Uppsala where she lives and works. She
studied at the Royal University College of Fine Arts, Stockholm, from
1970 - 1976 and The Slade School of Fine Art in London in 1974. Since
1998 she has been the Drawing Master at Uppsala University. She is a
member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm and has
been awarded The Prince Eugen Medal for outstanding artistic merit by
Carl Gustaf XVI, King of Sweden. Ulla is represented in many
international collections including His Majesty King Gustav Adolf VI
Collection, Stockholm, The Portrait Collection of the Royal Academy of
Science Stockholm, The Modern Museum, Stockholm, The National Gallery,
Oslo, Norway, Alvar Alto Museum, Jyveskyla, Finland, Ateneum,
Helsinki, Finland, Bibliotheque National de Paris, France, and The
National Gallery, Canberra, Australia.
