Lena Cronqvist was born in Karlstad, Sweden, in 1938 and lives between
New York, Stockholm and the island of Koster. She began her art
studies at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design,
Stockholm in 1958, before moving to the Royal University College of
Fine Arts from 1959 to 1964. She is a member of The Royal Swedish
Academy of Fine Arts. Lena was awarded the Prince Eugen medal for
outstanding artistic merit by Carl Gustaf XVI, King of Sweden and she
is in receipt of the State Income Guarantee Award of the Arts Grants
Committee. She is represented in many major Swedish museums including
The Modern Museum in Stockholm, internationally at The British Museum,
and in public and private collections across Europe and the USA.
