Title: The Pool

For the past few years I have replanted my garden and designed it as I
would a painting or a print. It has taken on an appearance of nature
as a decorative composition, having been inspired by the pictorial
qualities I find in Turkish carpets or Persian prints. It is, at once,
a landscape and a still life. At the centre of this garden I have made
a pool surrounded by palms, exotic plants and an abundance of flowers
in an arrangement that ensures stillness and quiet. It is a subject
for my work and must be seen to function in sunshine or shadow, in
darkness or in moonlight.
