Title: Bongo Jungle
Size: 65 x 50 cm
Medium: Carborundum
In the lower depths of the mind there lingers still, it seems, an indelibly
deep but elusive memory of a forgotten past in a fabulous paradise. A sense
of a primordial state of being, suffused with suggestions of an Eden. A
long lost era dimly recalled, existing on the fringes of "collective
memory". The notion of a jungle with its rich dark green recesses, exotic
flora and minatory denizens stirs in one too feelings that generally do
give way to reveries of edenic fantasy that opens onto a kind of
dream-world, a place of mystery inhabited by avatars. Could this be the
soil whence the seeds of imagination spring forth and manifest as young
tender green shoots of the mind?
