The Persian Collection in the Chester Beatty Library inspired this
print.
The stories and poems illustrated in the collection have sparked an
interest in 15th century Persian poetry, of which the Library has some
translations and interpretations.
These poems, while conveying rich messages, often seemed to rely on a
quite reduced verbal imagery, which prompt an attempt at illustration.
