Title: Dogs in a Garden
Size: 28.5 x 30.5 cm
Medium: Drypoint and Carborundum
When invited to participate in "response" type exhibitions such as this one,
Holy Show, Art into Art etc., I always allow myself to be heavily influenced by
the work in question. In this instance I was particularly attracted to the work of the Persian masters, - the
vibrancy of colour, the subtle arrangement of the stylised figures and objects, the sense of an ordered and
hermetically enclosed situation. This image is vaguely based on my own garden. The figures are, unusually,
dogs - perhaps poised for an instant before disrupting the apparent order.
